Considering port location and features of the traffic flows in the region, port reconstruction and upgrade will be carried out in three stages until 2025.
Port Reconstruction Stages:
STAGE 1
(untill the end of 2019)
Upgrade of the existing infrastructure, restoration of fishing terminal, as well as construction of bulk cargo terminal at the new site. We also plan to construct a new multi-purpose and bunkering terminals and to upgrade port engineering systems and utilities
STAGE 2
(untill the end of 2022)
Creation of a new international logistics center with covered warehouses and outside storage facilities, ship repair center and a bulk cargo treatment terminal.
STAGE 3
(untill the end of 2025)
Construction of the oil loading terminal and tank farm for aggressive chemicals.
Port of Poronaysk Reconstruction Objectives:
1. Development of Sakhalin Island port infrastructure, provision of relevant services meeting highest international standards to the customers .
2. Creation of emergencies and oil spills prevention and management system.
3. Training and professional upgrade of personnel capable to provide transport infrastructure development. Socio-economical development of the region and promotion of the island attractiveness as a place of residence and work.
